HAVE YOUR SAY! . . . . . . . IT’S YOUR MARKET

EVERYONE now has the opportunity to object to the Chester City Council’s ‘New Market’ plans.
Although it is now too late to send in objections to the Secretary of State.
You can still complain to Chester MP Christine Russell or Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott.

Appointments for regular surgeries with Christine Russell in Chester Town Hall
can be made on - 01244 400174.

The Council wants . . . . .
A SMALLER MARKET - this contravenes the Chester Improvements Act 1845 and the 1929 Corporation act, which states that the new market must be “more spacious and convenient than the old market.”

They want to . . . .
CLOSE DOWN THE PRESENT MARKET BEFORE THE NEW ONE IS COMPLETED - this contravenes the 1845 Chester Improvement Act and the 1929 Corporation Act.

There will be . . . . .
NO PROPER LOADING /UNLOADING FACILITIES, NO PARKING FOR TRADERS - and no extra parking for residents and visitors!

The Chester City Council are also going to . . . . .
CLOSE DOWN THE BUS STATION EARLY NEXT YEAR IN ADVANCE OF THE NORTHGATE DEVELOPMENT - Causing inconvenience for everyone!

The Council will be seeking the Ministers Consent to proceed.
